About the project

What made you go with this concept for FAIL?
Timing was everything. I had been working on a couple of other concepts and running into ongoing scheduling conflicts with the subjects. The final-final FUEL deadline happened to be the day after election day.  In my opinion, the results of the election are a failure, but the real fail in this case was poor voter turnout.  How could anyone not care enough to vote in this election?  There is a bigger picture to look at beyond who will sit behind the desk in the Oval Office for the next four years.

Your film is somewhat controversial…what’s your take on that?
Controversy is simply the collision of differing perspectives and opinions. It is an essential element to the success of an independent, free thinking society.  Any work that inspires this process is a good thing.

One person’s failure is another person’s success…how can people connect when the divide is so great?
I think we have to realize and continue to remind ourselves that contrast brings color, beauty, excitement, drama, and passion to our lives.  Without contrast we would all exist in one big, incredibly dull, milky wash.  Welcome the differences and divides we have with one another, and strive to find common ground.  This is the only way to keep things moving forward.

Anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this great project!

Embarrasing fail? Yeah, we’ve all been there. Trailing toilet paper on your shoe. You accidentally tucked your slip into your underpants. Maybe forgot to zip up that zipper?
