Pre-flight:
Integrity and Control
This is where every job begins. Once we've assigned an electronic job ticket to your project, it quickly moves to pre-flight where file integrity is inspected and any existing problems are addressed.
Pre-press:
Quality, Convenience and Speed
In pre-press, scanning, retouching, page assembly and proofing occurs before the job goes to press. Prinergy, a page-based workflow solution that implements the full Adobe Postscript Extreme system, automates the entire pre-press process and gives operators more control over output options.
Our Kodak Approval Systems provide quality halftone digital proofing, matching film separations dot for dot. Calibrated to the platemaker and the individual presses, these systems enable us to match what's on press to what's on the proof. And Cohber offers the convenience of remote proofing. So even if you're hundreds of miles away from us, you can proof your job without ever leaving your office. |
Creo Digital Platesetter:
Accuracy and Consistency
In 1995, Cohber became the first sheedfed printer in the US to install the Creo Digital Platesetter. Creo eliminates the use of film and conventional stripping, saving time, materials and dollars. Plates are made quickly and accurately with rush work and last minute changes handled without the delays of conventional stripping and platemaking. All plates are first generation. The digital file is ripped and exposed directly to the plate material giving us more control over dot gain and the ability to consistently print sharper, higher quality images. Once jobs have been successfully plated they are archived and cataloged for easy retrieval.
Part of the Creo workflow is managing digital assets. This is done with an automated, robotically-operated archival system that holds 5.2 terabytes of data and stores all jobs on bar-coded tapes. Having all this digital information at your fingertips makes re-purposing an easy task.
10-Color Press:
Fast Turnaround and Cost Effective
Our Heidelberg 10-color press allows for maximum creativity in the use of inks. Able to print both sides in a single pass, five over five, for maximum productivity, it's a cost effective alternative to short-run web printing that enables faster turnaround for jobs like catalogs, direct mailers and brochures. This press is interfaced with the Heidelberg CPC2S Spectrophotometer Color Control to assure consistency and accurate color.
CoCure™:
High Gloss on Heavy Substrates
Utilizing CoCure™, a one-pass, in-line application of a curable UV gloss coating, the specially designed Heidelberg 8-color CD Press accommodates heavier weight stocks and is capable of printing on special substrates including vinyl. CoCure™ offers a level of gloss and rub resistance previously available only with a full UV press or off-line varnishes. In addition to high definition brochures and other related collateral, the CD Press is perfect for printing point of purchase displays and packaging.
